Kingston University will be hosting these new virtual book clubs in Microsoft Teams. Joining details will be sent nearer the event date.
This summer Kingston University will be hosting our first ever virtual Book Club. During these unique online events, you will be able to hear a wide variety of Kingston staff members relate their fields of expertise to specific chapters from Airhead, by Newsnight host Emily Maitlis. These talks will be held weekly from 8 July 2020 -16 September 2020. This is a great opportunity to connect with your new KU community before you arrive on campus.
The fifth Big Read Book Club talk will be focusing on the chapter titled David Attenborough: One hour in a hot air balloon (p.79).
In this week's Airhead chapter, Emily Maitlis details her whimsical meeting with Sir David Attenborough, hundreds of feet above ground in a hot air balloon. Join us for a discussion with Associate Professor Pete Garside, as he further explores the career and messages of one of Britain's most beloved naturalists - and his own personal hero.
Booking closes at 3pm the day prior to the event.
