This summer Kingston University wants to keep the Kingston community connected, from new students to alumni and everyone in between. We will be hosting our first-ever series of virtual Book Club meetings, centred around the 2020 Big Read Airhead, written by Newsnight host Emily Maitlis. You'll get to see the chapters of Airhead through the eyes of KU experts in weekly virtual talks from 8 July to 16 September 2020 - a chance you won't want to miss.

The ninth Big Read Book Club talk will be focusing on the chapter titled Grenfell (p.136).

For anyone who has wondered how they would react in organisational or personal emergency, this week's discussion may provide some insight. Associate Professor Fatima Annan-Diab and Dr Pauline Parker will explore the theme of ‘How to Survive a Disaster', using as an example Emily Maitlis' account of first volunteering, and reporting on location, after the Grenfell Tower fire.

Booking closes at 3pm the day prior to the event.
