A thorough search for scholarly literature means more than just using iCat or Google Scholar. Did you know that at Kingston University you have access to a range of specialised databases? These products allow you to carry out a structured, quality search to get much more focused results.

In this session we'll share our best tips and techniques for searching effectively, using the Scopus database to demonstrate these skills. We'll also look at some of the tools available in Scopus to make your workflow more effective - how to save searches, save results, and how to export records to reference management software such as RefWorks.

This session will be appropriate for anyone wishing to go beyond simple searches and learn about how to use searching techniques effectively using a bibliographic database. Scopus is a very large, multidisciplinary database which covers many different subject areas.

Suitable for: Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

*For online bookings, the registration closing date will be 1 working day prior to the session.  You will be sent joining instructions before the session*.
