Combining board games, music as well as themed nights and performances, Iqbal's new residency is a space for an array of interests to intersperse. He will be soundtracking the evenings, journeying through the depths of his record collection as a selection of board games will be on offer to play. From scrabble, ludo and chess to Ghanian board game Oware and South Asian tabletop game Carrom, this will be a night to stimulate all the senses.



About Haseeb

Haseeb Iqbal is a DJ, writer and broadcaster from north London. His work explores music, history and stories from around the globe. His radio documentaries on Worldwide FM and his own independent radio platform, haseebiqbal.world, have amassed a cult following for their in-depth research and emotive analysis, whilst his DJ sets have been celebrated for their eclectic brilliance. His monthly club residency Studio Crumb is currently one of the staples of the London club scene, drawing in a diverse and devoted audience, whilst the club night itself has recently been listed by Time Out Magazine as one of the best in the capital.

His first book, Noting Voices: Contemplating London's Culture, was published on Rough Trade Books and spotlighted as one of the most crucial pieces of cultural commentary on space and community in the last decade. He has written for The Guardian, Mixmag, DJ Mag and more. His words, music and thoughts have been profiled by various platforms such as Crack Magazine, The Fader and BBC Radio London and he has recently featured in the campaigns of Vogue, Fred Perry and Clark's.

A multi-faceted performer with an enthusiastic edge, Haseeb's new residency at the Tate Modern sees a very exciting new dimension added to his craft.
