Health and Social Care services like the NHS touch all our lives and are among the biggest recipients of public funding. They are also crucial to forming innovative public health and social policy in the UK, and to do this they generate and absorb huge amounts of academic research from a wide range of disciplines. This workshop will introduce you to UK statutory HSC services and how they are involved in making and implementing policy. It will provide you with an overview of the Health and Social Care policy landscape, for example commissioning, the role of regulatory bodies, and how senior decision makers work with researchers inside and outside the NHS.
