The Philharmonia Orchestra brings together environmental and arts world speakers in the first of four conversations as part of their Nordic Soundscapes series.
The fragility of the seas requires us to change our interactions with them, but if we don't make these changes slowly and carefully the consequences for their delicately balanced ecosystems could be catastrophic.
Can the arts help to communicate this complexity?
Swedish filmmaker and environmentalist Joakim Odelberg and marine researcher and science communicator Jon Copley of DOSI (Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative) lead the discussion, with musicologist Dan Grimley.
The session includes opportunities to join the debate, a preview of Joakim's underwater film footage of the Nordic coast, featured in the 3pm concert, with coffee and cinnamon buns.
