This annual Kingston University competition helps you develop your idea, gain more confidence in pitching, get feedback from experts, and win prizes of up to £1,000. It’s open to all KU students, whatever you’re studying and no business plan is needed.



Who Can Enter?




  • Open to all Kingston University students from any faculty and level of study.

  • You can enter individually, with friends, or as part of a team.

  • Your idea doesn’t need to link to your course, it just needs to solve a problem, meet a need, or explore a new opportunity.



What You’ll Gain

Bright Ideas isn’t just about prizes, it’s about building skills that last a lifetime:

  • Bright Idea Sprints – Value Proposition & Pitch Perfect: January 2026

  • Grand Final – Wednesday 11 February, 2026



How to Enter

  2. Attend the Bright Idea Sprints to sharpen your idea and presentation.

  3. If shortlisted, pitch at the Grand Final for the chance to win.
