Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), directed by Anatole Litvak, and starring Barbara Stanwyck, Burt Lancaster and Ann Richards.
The film stars Barbara Stanwyck as a bedridden woman who overhears the plot of murder while on the telephone. She attempts to help her husband (Burt Lancaster) solve the mystery and prevent the crime.
The film was based on a highly successful radio drama, that Orson Welles called “the greatest single radio script ever written”. Stanwyck was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
