In the mood for some winter cheer? Brighten up your Wednesday with free music and a colourful craft workshop.
London can be a big place, but there are plenty of friendly faces and creative communities to find your place in. Creative Encounters invites you to experience the array of art and culture that makes this city a home to so many. Join us for live music from rising star Saachi Sen, hands on creative challenges from Momtaz Begum-Hossain and poetry from the National Poetry Library.
This month, we’re making beautiful hanging decorations for any occasion, influenced by the colours and patterns on long distance lorries and trucks in South Asia. Inspired by the artist’s long-dreamed-of trip to see these colourful vehicles, this workshop uses foils, vinyls and bells in her signature colourful style. Learn about the history and traditions of Pakistani truck art and go home with your very own decoration.
Saachi Sen plays two 25 mins sets, treating us to her unique blend of choral and classical influences with a distinctive alt-pop sound.
So if you’re new to the capital and feeling a little lost – or just eager to meet people and discover something new, come join us and make the Southbank Centre your home for the evening.
Free – no ticket required
