KUBAG have been removing the invasive rhododendron species from the wilds of the Kingston Hill campus woodland with different groups over the years. There is much more still to be cleared to make way for a richer habitat to start to re-develop, and allow light in for tree saplings to regenerate.

A fun physical session is ensured as volunteers lop, chop and dig the established shrub out of the woodland. Experienced guidance and a good workout guaranteed!

On the first bash, we will be combining the bash with a pond clear out at our Kingston Hill pond.

Please sign up by the following deadlines for the two 2020 events:

1. Tuesday 10 Nov for our 14 November bash

2. Tuesday 24 Nov for our 28 November bash

Booking is essential for this free event please. We are also making some changes to the way we have run our events to ensure that we can run them safely during the current pandemic. So we are:

1. Limiting numbers of participants.

2. Asking for phone numbers to be emailed to biodiversity@kingston.ac.uk at the time of booking (it will be kept for event administration and track and trace purposes as needed).

3. Asking everyone to bring their own gardening gloves (though we do continue to provide the main tools on the day, gardening gloves are the hardest to disinfect between uses.

4. No longer providing snacks during our events up to the end of the year (to be reviewed in 2021), so please bring your own snacks and water to our events

Hope to see you there.
